American Culture

Do you know anything about America outside of what you see in the movies and on TV? Do you know about American history, religion, and politics?

Surprisingly, knowing these things will help you on the SAT. PrepforAmerica’s American Culture class will focus on the cultural aspects of the SAT that are nested in every aspect of the test.

While you may know what a bully is, and even what a pulpit is, do you know what a bully pulpit is? This phrase combines American politics (it was coined by a US president), religion and history, like many of the words on the SAT.

We will expose you to different facets of American culture that the majority of Americans know, and show you how they relate to the SAT.

Your teachers will focus on the following sections: Writing and Reading Comprehension. Additionally, you will receive some instruction in Roots and Their Meanings and Vocabulary Drills.

At the end of the class your teacher will provide you with some basic exam counseling, vocabulary lists, and further documentation to assist you in your ongoing self study program.
