Walter Brown

Walter Brown

Director, Counselor

Walter first took the SAT back in 1990, qualifying for the Center for Talented Youth through John Hopkins University. He took classes at Columbia University while in high school, and later matriculated at Dartmouth College.

He holds a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science from Manhattanville College in New York, and has been working in test preparation since 2001. He first started teaching students for the SAT for the top rated test preparatory company in the US, The Princeton Review, in Westchester, New York, and in Greenwich and Fairfield, Connecticut. He has also tutored for the Learning Shop, a government contracted education company, which works with at risk, disabled and medically ill students.

Walter then came to China to study Chinese, and has taught English here since 2005. After spending three years working in education in China, he was surprised to discover a dearth of quality SAT preparatory courses in Chengdu, and began putting plans in place to start his own SAT preparatory courses, thus founding PrepforAmerica.
